What's still open in the final round?
In theory Köln could still take the playoff spot from Union (needs 3
points and 4 goals). Union could leave the spot to Mainz or Bochum.
The later two are safe with a draw.

Cl spots have been handed out. Frankfurt has EL if Leverkusen wins
the cup, otherwise Hoff could steal it (3 points + 3 goals). Freiburg
could take conference or EL from Hoff. In case of Leverkusen winning
the cup, and Freiburg losing in Berlin, Heidenheim, Augsburg, or
Werder could take the conference spot from Freiburg.

The upshot is that only 2 matches are entirely without importance.

Note: Unlike some other RSS games, all matches will be played on
the SAME weekend.

With the standings having such an outsized importance, it is time for Algorithm 3.0!

Something To Play For (STPF) factor stronger for Union than Freiburg: 2-1
Post by Jesper Lauridsen
Leverkusen - Augsburg
STPF very big for Leverkusen, but will have their heads to Atalanta? 3-1
Post by Jesper Lauridsen
Frankfurt - Leipzig
STPF factor almost insignificant for both: 2-1
Post by Jesper Lauridsen
Wolfsburg - Mainz
Big STPF factor for Mainz: 1-2
Post by Jesper Lauridsen
Hoffenheim - Bayern
STPF factor clearly favors Hoff, but Bayern doesn't care. 1-2
Post by Jesper Lauridsen
Werder - Bochum
STPF factors favors Bochum 1-2 (OK, maybe this Algo 3.0 is just as shit as 1.0 and 2.0...)
Post by Jesper Lauridsen
Stuttgart - Gladbach
Stuttgart could climb to second place: 2-1
Post by Jesper Lauridsen
Heidenheim - Köln
My last chance to go for Heidenheim before they finish last next year 2-1, STPF factor be damned!

Jesper's 808 points, divided by 306 matches, means 2.64 points per match. Now let's say that I missed about 50% of the Friday matches. If I had made picks in them, at an average rate, I would have 17*2.64=44.88 points more, so 802 points in total.

I'll take the virtual runner-up crown.

A count shows 26 entries into cell N20 in the 34 prediction sheets, so
you've only missed 8 Friday matches. And using the leader's point
average is a somewhat questionable method. Your actual point average
is 2.54. But are Friday matches average? MH is 0.1 below his normal
average on Fridays, while I'm 0.03 below.

OTOH, you're 0.3 points UP on the Fridays you have predicted. Which
implies that the missing 8 Fridays were low scoring.

So Regensburg will playoff against the 16th place from the 2. Bundesliga.
That was between Wehen and Rostock, with the former 1 point and better
GD ahead of the later. Wehen got an early 1-0, so looked pretty secure.
But the second half brought a 1-1, while Rostock got *their* 1-0. For
23 minutes Rostock was in 16th place, but conceded twice in the final
20 minutes, and went down.

To the surprise of absolutely nobody, the match had to be suspended
towards the end, due to crowd trouble. Eventually the last few minutes
could be played, and the demotion confirmed.
