First of all Meryy Christmas or jew joliday or whatefver your holiday is
that keeps you from working for the Capitalist running dogs for a day or
three. I feel like I have not been drinking for a week and now have to
make up for it?

I suppose even WWEpl fake football is better than no football? I get it
that in the WWEpl they are actaully football players, even if the scores
are pre determined, but it isnt right. Sport is about athletes
competing and trying to win. Not American owned puppets playing ARab
owned puppets. And who does the recruiting for the WWEpl? Do they even
understand football?

There is real sport on though. THe WORLD Juniors of the ice hockey.
Will good prevail over evil this afternoon? Apparently the Swedish
Meatblls won earlier over the Slovacks. Kanada is favouted, but no one
knows who has the best juniors. It is still kinda pure. As long as
they dont do tv breaks, i will be happy. Reasonable prices too, for
tickets if you are not going to Kanata to watch Kanada.

Only locals will get that last line.

I have to admit, I really like World Junior ice hockey, maybe it is a
Kanadian thing?

If you have ever been to Manchester, it is the drunkest place on earth,
it really is and i have no issues with that.

But who does the scouting for the two teams? They can spend 3 billions
dollars on players and they still cant win.

For those of you who want to watch real sport, Germany v USA starts
soon. I would normally be at this game, but I refuse to go to games in
Kanata.

Clearly you've never been to Dublin!

Try walking around Temple Bar after 8pm on a Saturday...

In my experience I'd say Manchester is the wettest place on
earth though, I think it's rained EVERY time that I've been
there.

Money doesn't always buy success... but it can buy over-hyped
players who are not as good as the wages that their agent has
negotiated for them. The Premier League is full of them...
spoofers with better agents than actual talent.

I have never been to Ireland, so Icant speak for them. But I have been
to other drunk places like Prague or Munich during Oktoberfest or
Canadian Ice fishing derbies and nothing compares to the streets of
Manchester as far as drunkenness goes. Little kids in strollers are
drinking and getting into fights, I mean every single person is drunk.
Pregnant women, old people, toddlers, everyone and this is at 8 AM in
the Hospital waiting room or the sunday school class or the church pews.
It is constant and it is everywhere and it is everyone.

So meanwhile in the Junior Ice hockey WC, Germany really sucks, even
with a Lewandowski as a striker, they cant score. But even more
surprising, little Latvia beat the big bad Kanadians, which as bad as it
sounds, probably means nothing as far as the next round goes, but still<
maybe the are not favourites to win this thing? At the moment we are
projecting Sweden to win the WC.

No, sadly, no football would be better than English football with all
the media hype. I'd rather watch Racing Club play than an English team.

Yeah what's gone wrong for Aberdeen? They lost again yesterday, 4-0
against Kilmarnock! And St Mirren beat Rangers 2-1!

Watch Wrexham, they are not English. Plus, the documentary on
Disney+ is great entertainment.

I now follow their results, and I usually hate teams that play
in red.

Right on ! Real sport for real people. No pussies rolling around the
place like they have been shot by an assassin every few minutes.

I don't see the trophy leaving Canada at the end of this tournament.

That might explain why the IIHF like to hold this tournament in Canada
every couple of years. They know people here will watch it !

On the other hand, looking at the rosters for the four nations thingy in
February, the USA will be a very tough nut to crack.

The NHL 4-Nations Face-Off?

I think Finland will be the ones to beat in that tournament. I still
think we have a great chance to win it as well. Although with four
strong teams of experienced NHL players playing "international" hockey
on NHL size ice, all four nations have a chance really.

Either way it'll be a better tournament to watch than that usual bore
fest of an All-Star game.

There ought to have been a combined German/Swiss/Austrian team, I
honestly think it would have been competitive (if a bit thin, especially
in defence)

Meier/Draisaitl/Peterka
Hischier/Stützle/Fiala
Niederreiter/Rossi/Kurashev
Suter/Kasper/Sturm (Reichel)

Josi/Seider
Siegenthaler/Moser
Bichsel/Szuber

Grubauer/Daccord (Schmid)

Ciao,

I would liked to have seen a Team Europe in the tournament...
just to give me some interest. (And why no Czechia team?!)
