You have 10 points which you can allocate to as many coaches as you want
from the English Premier League, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga,
Spanish Liga, and French Ligue 1.

Maximum 3 points per coach, decimal points allowed.

Any coach that you nominated and gets sacked (or resigns, voluntarily or
not) before December 31, you get the points, BUT there is a twist!

- A coach sacked by a team participating in this year's Champions League
group stage: your points are multiplied by 3

- A coach sacked by a team participating in this year's Europa League or
Conference League group stage: your points are multiplied by 2

- Any other team: your points are multiplied by 1

Deadline: Friday September 13.

With Manchester United sitting 14th in the Premier League table
this morning, Erik ten Hag getting sacked is the least
surprising news of the day...

IS Nuri sahin next ? Another loss today after being given the dreaded
vote of confidence. Was there anything in his coaching background that
indicated he was ready for a club as big as BVB, given how young he is.

Leicester City are only a point above the relegation zone so
maybe that was too close for comfort as far as 'Top' was
concerned. In the relegation casino sometimes it's better to
twist than stick!

Hoffenheim‘s new sporting director Schicker,
previously quite successful at Sturm Graz, has
lined up Sturm’s manager Ilzer as Matarazzo‘s
successor.
I guess they know each other.

Matarazzo is almost certain to be replaced by Sturm Graz manager
Christian Ilzer (having already poached sporting director Andreas
Schicker), breaking up the minds behind Sturm's recent successes.

Is a sweep possible?
Runjaić - 1 point in the last 5 matches.
Dyche - 3 points the last 5 and the next 5 includes Liverpool, Arsenal,
Chelsea and City...
Sahin - 4th place in the Champions League, 5th place in Bundesliga, out
of the cup. Quite a mixed bag, just like the brilliant home form and
terrible away form. With only 4 matches left, it seems unlikely he'll be
sacked before the deadline.

Thanks for the updates, here and on the spreadsheet. Yes, still in last
place. but with one last round of matches to be played in Italy and
England before the deadline, I still have some faint hopes of avoiding
the wooden spoon. Nicola at Cagliari won't do it for me (0.5 points
only), but if Fonseca (multiplier x3) does get the sack, that will
revolutionize the whole table.

There are quite a few rumors floating around that he could get the sack
if he loses to Roma. I also had him for 2 (and I think someone else
too?). Werner does not have Fonseca, so if he drops, you overtake him.

Most exciting RSSCSC finale ever?

How many had Fonseca ?  I did, for 2 points I think.  He should not be
too vulnerable, though, should he?
There are quite a few rumors floating around that he could get the sack
if he loses to Roma. I also had him for 2 (and I think someone else
too?). Werner does not have Fonseca, so if he drops, you overtake him.
Most exciting RSSCSC finale ever?
I could have done without the drama!
Fonseca got himself sent off in the first half, maybe to get some
plausible deniability in case Milan have a bad result?

88' 1-1: To be fair, Milan have played quite a spirited match, I think
he survives

This from Gazzetta just an hour ago:

https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Serie-A/Milan/29-12-2024/milan-fonseca-a-rischio-conceicao-pronto-in-caso-di-esonero.shtml

Maybe the die had already been cast (which would explain Fonseca's
nervousness)?

This is just like back in 2021 when Monaco sacked Niko Kovač on

But overall excellent vulturing this year.

Shocked!

It’s a good job we don’t have “negative scoring” given one of my picks
was Nuno Espírito Santo
- 3rd in the EPL with a team some thought might be battling relegation.

Late twist: Lopetegui and Dyche sacked this week, too late to affect the
standings above, which are, in fact, the final standings. Congrats MH,
winner of the 2024 RSSCSC!

(Nobody had Lopetegui. Werner, MH, Futbolmetrix and Blueshirt(x3) had
Dyche. MH would still have finished on top, but Blueshirt would have
risen to 2nd place, with Real Mardin dropping to 5th)

Sean Dyche 1
Paulo Pezzolano 1
Kosta Runjaić 1
Peter Zeidler 1
Is a sweep possible?
Runjaić - 1 point in the last 5 matches.
Dyche - 3 points the last 5 and the next 5 includes Liverpool, Arsenal,
Chelsea and City...
Sahin - 4th place in the Champions League, 5th place in Bundesliga, out
of the cup. Quite a mixed bag, just like the brilliant home form and
terrible away form. With only 4 matches left, it seems unlikely he'll be
sacked before the deadline.
Şahin might actually be at risk during the winter break, crucial game
against Wolfsburg coming up to influence the decision. Runjaić could
perhaps become a last-minute casualty, too, if Udinese should lose
against Torino on December 29th even though I doubt it.
But Dyche looks safe, no small thanks to the weather and to Arsenal's
ineptitude.

Sean Dyche is going nowhere, for now. There have been worse
performing English teams between August - December, so he will
make it to the competition deadline.

Pep is probably safe for a bit too... but nobody would have
picked him for this competition anyway. ;-)

What about deaths? Included in involuntary resignations, I suppose?
Post by Futbolmetrix
- A coach sacked by a team participating in this year's Champions League
group stage: your points are multiplied by 3
- A coach sacked by a team participating in this year's Europa League or
Conference League group stage: your points are multiplied by 2
- Any other team: your points are multiplied by 1
Deadline: Friday September 13.
The multipliers make this hard. The pillaging of teams like Stuttgart,
Bologna, Atalanta by bigger teams makes it harder. This calls for
reflection.

Unfortunately, yes. The "voluntary or not" clause is included because
you sometimes can't really know whether a resignation is voluntary or
not. So, to be on the safe side, any coach that leaves his post before
Dec 31 counts (hmm... I wonder if some club owners could find ways to
make an "accident" happen when they can't resolve a tricky contract
situation...)

Thanks. Mourinho in principle could be sacked or leave Fenerbahce (not
included in the list of RSSCSC leagues), then picked up by a team in an
RSSCSC league and sacked again before the end of December, so he is a
valid pick. Not one very likely to yield points, but still valid.

In any case, I will accept picks and revisions up until 11:59GMT of
Friday September 13. If no revisions are submitted, your last pick is
the one that counts for the purposes of RSSCSC.

You're right, of course. <shrugs> It was early in the morning!

Why is it so Eurocentric? If you included leagues from the rest of the
world, it would enhance the prestige of the game; it would encourage
interest from at least 1 former Champion.

Just okay tho.

The google groups interface was more user-friendly. novaBBS is in its

charge.
maybe they can hire Cannavaro now, and sack him before the new year!
